We all know that every coin has two faces. Similarly, every situation in our life provides us with two consequences. The lockdown phase, thanks to Covid-19, gave us positives as well as negatives. Needless to say, the impact of lockdown was a disaster for the overall economy. However, let us reflect upon how it favoured us and brought out our better selves.

In some ways, the lockdown was a blessing in disguise. Like a lot of us, it not only bolstered our ties with our close ones but also helped us to work on ourselves and become our better versions.

To begin with, talking about our families, most of us got together for at least a year sharing the same warmth and space, recreating all the childhood fun and frolic that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Likewise, many of us have got the same story to discuss on our family get together which wasn’t possible earlier in cases of family functions. But, not to forget, during this duration, many amongst us have lost our close ones as well as didn’t even get a chance in the past two years to meet our some of our special ones.

Secondly, most of us will agree that almost all spent best times with their loved ones during this period. ‘Gender equality’ was at its peak. Amateurs transformed into professional cooks. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar had been saviours. There was a sharp increase in the population of vegetarians and teetotallers. Unnecessary Social Media forwards were replaced by meaningful contests. Above all, there was an unanimous belief that this too shall pass.

People started understanding the importance of slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. There was also a realisation of spending more time in reflecting upon one’s inner self; and for once, stop being a part of the rat race. It was definitely a BOON for our health, mental health and all the things we had been looking forward to doing. This was the time where we all sat back and relaxed. This time may not going to return no matter how much pissed we might have been. We are really going to miss this time. So why not make the most of it the way you want to.

The list of how lockdown worked as a boon for us is unending. There is no doubt one holds about the negative impact of it that aptly describes the lockdown as a bane, but why not all of us take a moment from our lives and genuinely thank this unasked ‘time out’ that gave us some best memories of our lives which wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. All that we need to do is to be thankful and embrace the difficult times that we faced with love and care for others and take this as an opportunity for the resurrection of our lives.
